: Hey, check out the current issue of Car Craft. The Maverick is listed as one of the ten coolest, cheapest cars. I think the picture is a '70 grabber, but I didn't know they made them. There is also some really cool stuff about Boss 302 Mav's. The magazine actually gives it some credit as a true muscle car...not many do that. The artist came up with some way-cool sketches, you've gotta see 'em. Hope this helps.

: also: Aug 1997 Hot Rod, article about a 351 Mav. Check this out at a library, that's where I found it, it was so cool I tore the pages out and took them home with me...

I went and looked at the June issue of "Car Craft". That is indeed a 1970 Grabber that they feature in the still photo. Interesting to note on the picture is that the cars has the rare 14 x 6 (4-lug) wheels on it. (Yes, I can tell just by looking). It also has white stripes down the side, instead of black to match the hood and grill. I have had two of these 1970 Grabber's, including the one I have now. I have done extensive research on these cars in particular, so it was interesting to see this photo of the car. I had never seen one with the white stripes. I am assuming that it was an archive photo from Ford, but I don't know. I have started an informal registry of these cars, so if anybody has one, get in touch with me.

"Mustangs and Fords" did a similar article awhile back called: 10 overlooked Fords. They also mentioned the Maverick, Fairmount, Pinto, and Fairlane, as well as others. Basically everybody is discovering what we have know for years.....the Maverick is a perfect platform for modifications, restifications, etc.
