I AM DOING THE SAME. I HAVE A 87 5.0 BUT ON EFI, I AM USING A OLD 4BRL INTAKE & A HOLLEY 0-4548 . AS FOR TRANS IT'S A 3 SP BOLTS RIGHT IN NO PROBLEM
: : This page is just what I've been looking for! This is great!

: : Does anyone have info on what it would take to swap the original 302/C4 with a 5.0/T-5 or AOD. I can buy a "fully dressed" take out 5.0 with less than 100 mi (new, not remanufacured) for $1650 from Kensington motors. Also they have transmissions(t-5 and AOD) for $650-$725. What else will I have to buy? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. I drive about 200 miles a day and I don't want to give this car up.

: I just completed putting a fuel injected 5.0 in my latest project car. The result is great, but it tool a LOT of work to get there. I had the opportunity to remove every wire out of a donor Mustang, and remove them I did. I also happen to have a best friend who recently completed Ford's Assest program training, and who has access to all the computer diagnostic tools needed to fine tune such a beast. The decision to make this conversion is not something to enter into lightly - it takes a lot of planning, a lot of resources, and you'll pull your hair out from time to time. If you just can't resist, let me know - I can give you all the gory details...
