There are several things that can cause your "missing" problem. 1) oil fouled spark plugs (check 'em). 2) bad ignition wires (replace 'em). And 3) Worn out or improperly gapped breaker points (replace 'em). As far as losing oil; if the cais NOT smoking, you probably have a leak. You shouldn't be losing more than half a quart to a quart of oil every 3,000 miles. Especially with only 40,000 miles on it...

: I have a 70 Maverick with a 200 six cylinder. It only has 40,000 miles on it. Lately it has started missing/dragging(?) when I accelerate, usually going uphill. It seems to be getting worse each day. Any suggestions? Also, I seem to be losing oil at about a rate of a quart a month, even though the car doesn't smoke at all. Is this a characteristic of Mavericks, or is something really wrong here?

: Love my Maverick!!!
