The Comet didn't come out till 1971. The 302 was available late in the 1971 Model year for Mavericks...I'm not sure about 302's for the Comet.
: The Maverick came out in april of '69 and the Comet arrived in '70. The Comet was the first to have the 302 in '70 and the Maverick got it in late '71 for the '72 model year. So there ya have it....
