: Are you SURE it's the head gasket and not the rocker cover gasket leaking the oil?? In my experience, when I blew a head gasket in MY Maverick it caused a SEVERE coolant leak--not an oil leak. The reason it blew is because it had a bad thermostat (stuck closed) and I drove it hot for a week that way. BTW- if it's performance you want, swap in a 302. Otherwise fix the oil leak and drive it the way it is. I don't care what ANYONE says (including Mark G.), modifying an inline six is a waste of money--unless you have money to burn...

Well it is leakining oil under the sparkplugs not above them. When I first got the car I had to make an emergancy trip to SC witch is about 500 miles from my home. On the trip I used about 6 qts of Trans fluids. When I got there I checked the oil and it was way up the dipstick. I drained the oil and 2 gallons of oil/trans fluid came out. Every since then the Head gasket Leaked. What had happened was that my modulator valve had went out and most of the fluid ended up in the oil. After changing the valve the transmission fluid stoped leaking.

My gasket blew be cause of way to much oil pressure yours blew because of too much water pressure. The funny thing is that my car doesn't leak any coolent, smoke, or run hot.
