I'm a '72 2-dr 289 cid PROUD Mav owner, yes, you saw it right: 289 cid!. Here (in Mexico) Mavs came with the only option: the 289 V8 since it's introduction (circa '71) 'till '73 when they switched to 302.
Grabber was never available, only as a dealer conversion: hood, grille, decals but the performance package the BIG Grabber is famous for.
Mine is a light yellow, Hurst four-on-the-floor. I'm very plesaed to see that out there are clubs, enthusiasts and most important, sources for parts that are no longer available from Ford; I've asked Maverick Connection and AutoKrfaters as well for floor pans, but it seems this part have to wait to be reproduced. I just read for the Shelby Maverick and think is quite posible... had you heard about the 351 '72 Mustang GT hardtop? well come to México and you'll see some!!!
