Yes!!You have hit the nail on the head! THat is the point if our Maverick/Comet club, that we enjoy cars which are more fun for the fact that most people have overlooked them. Just like the Plymouth Valiant/Dodge Dart, these cars provided the handling/performance of the sportier cars of their time along with the handsome appearance of the larger cars. Anybody who has driven a stock 302-powered Maveick/Comet knows that these cars offer an excellent balance of performance/handling, plus a pretty decent ride for a small car(unlike a Chevy Nova). The engineering was far superior to the Chevy Nova and its' corporate counterparts in all respects, and I would also have to say much better than a Camaro. This guy must have been beaten in his poorly engineered Chevy out of a traffic light by a bone stock, rust -free, whisper -quiet Maverick or Comet. Remember, First On Race Day! Any good mechanic knows that General Motors cars are engineering disasters, and were the cause of our auto industry losing out to the Japanese.
