Yes it is true, Mavericks have not been appreciated in "Blue Books". But they haven't gone down in value either.
As far as a four door, unless it is in absolute excellent condition, it's not worth restoring, as far as a monetary value. Now if this 4-door Maverick was the first new car your parents ever owned and you want to restore it for sentimental value, then by all means, go ahead. Just realize that it will never be worth what you put into it....dollar wise. But then again, neither are the two doors the rest of us restore. The thing to keep in mind is to restore it for yourself and have fun with it when it is done.
