: "Did he say the 'C'-word?...
Yep, I said the dreaded 'c' word. The 'c' car is my daily driver, but i have dumped nearly all last years overtime cash into the maverick that gets to park in the garage. I also recognize fine qualities in both machines!

: : : There are several purposes for that plate, the most
: : : important probably being to keep grit away from the front
: : : seal area. If you leave it off; your convertor will go too
: : : far into your pump ; your mainshaft will go to far into
: : : your sprag; your starter engagement will be off, etc, etc.
: : : I know that plate is only .06-.09 thick, but tolerances are
: : : pretty tight in this area. Do you think Ford would have
: : : actually spent money on something if they really weren't
: : : sure it was needed?
: : Thanks Mark, I'll get another plate. Part of the reason I ask is that my other baby (chev) doesn't have that plate. As for when I think Ford would spend money on something that was not needed....one word "PINTO"...hahahhahah. thanks again.
