Here is what I did to plan the Indiana Mini-Meet I am having:
It is being held September 12. I would have planned it earlier in ths summer, but this worked out the best in order to have time to get the word out to everybody via the internet, club newsletter (it's coming, I swear!!), as well as passing out flyers myself. I found an All Ford Car show to host the event. The already had the Fairlane Club of America and The Vintage Thunderbird Club of Indiana invited to come. I asked if we (the IMCC) coulc also come, set up a "corral" so to speak, and they said "Yes"!! They even agreed to set up a Maverick only class. I recommended monly one trophy, but they wanted to give away three. (I hope three show up)
Anyways, this made it easy because there was already a well-established "All Ford" show to do this in conjuntion with. They set up the tents, parking, security, porta-poties, trophies, food vendors, etc. All we have to do is show up!! For all of you planning mini-meets out there, you may want to try this. It seems to work best with All-Ford shows because they are more willing to set up a class for you. They also help promote the show via flyers, paid advertising, etc. I would approach them and ask if they would supply one trophy, then you will hold your Maverick Mini-Meet there. They want the money, and a trophy or plaque only costs anywhere from $5 to $10. Plus at an All Ford Car Show, there are great Blue Ovals to look at as well.
Just some thoughts.
