I went out this morning...hooked up the battery and fired it up. Everything was back to normal. I backed it out of the garage and shut it off....normal. I let it warm up, then shut it off again...normal.
I do seem to remember the smell coming from outside the car...and remember, when I would touch the battery cable to the battery post (key turned off and in my pocket), the voltage regulator would make a loud click. It is not doing it now.
Any help is appreciated.........thanks.

: I pulled my Mav off the car trailer and into the garage. When I shut it off and pulled out the key, the alternator light was still on and the gas guage was still showing how much gas I had, but the radio or nothing else worked. I could also smell a "burning" smell. I raised the hood and took off the battery cable. I could touch the battery cable to the post and here a "click" in the voltage regulator....a rather loud one. I left the battery cable off for awhile, then hooked it back up and everything seemed fine. Do you think the voltage regulator is going bad? Keep in mind I just started it and pulled it off my car trailer.
