I was looking to buy an 85 Capri 5.0, it had a 7.5 in it, traction lock rearend, yes, but fragile as hell...
: : I had about 10 minutes to run through the Ford section at Pick 'N Pull today to spin the axels and look for a "possi" rear. The only thing I found was an '84 Capri. Did they have the 8.8" rear? I got the tag of the rear. (S274F) then (L73 A75 4L13) I don't suppose the 3rd member is a drop in replacement but I thought I'd check. What year Mustangs/Pintos or anything else have the trac-loc rear that will swap into a Mav? Is spinning the axle and seeing if they both spin the same way an accurate way of testing for it? How much can I expect to pay for a new 3rd member if I can't find one at the yard? They're only $40 at the yard.
: : Thanks,

: yes they did put 8.8 in Capris, and spining the tires is a quick & dirty way of telling if it's a posi. 4L13=4.13 ratio , L=posi unit. The other #s are bearing and build info. The 4L13should have been the bottom, right side of tag, correct?
