If you got the money replace the points with an Ignitor kit from Pertronix. It replaces your points with electronic ignition. And adds power with the convience of not having to adjust points. Summit Racing sells them. Points have to do with controlling high tension spark although I'm not quite excatly sure how to adjust them and I'm looking at the FORD SHOP MANUAL for 73' mav's right now.
