Wow!! i was thinkin it would be real hard to explain how to adjust points in writing and low and behold you did it!! good job!!!!!

: At the risk of showing my age, .017" is the point gap, put the point' rubbing block on the high point of the dist cam lobe , using a screw driver with the points screws snug, put the screw drive in the slots, one in the points one in the breaker plate. using a feeler gage put it betwen the points contact gap and ajust the gap with the screw driver. Don't forget to change the condensor also, both in the dist, under the cap. The points break the curcuit for a micro second so that the power built up in the coil goes to the spark plug the rotor is pointing at.

: The only ways you get better performance is, (a) use a heavy spring in your points, (b)go to dual points,(c) put an electronic system, C is your best thing to do .
