Check spark plugs, ignition wires, coil, cap & rotor, Make sure choke is open, Fuel filter may be clogged, You need 3 things to make an engine run; Air, Fuea, and Spark...if one is missing, the motor won't start...Old gasoline could be a problem too... :
Went to the yard to check out the Comet today and here's what happend, I'm at a loss...
: First, it's been sitting a LOOOOONG time, the battery of course is toast. Starter seems to also be bad as we had to use the old "screwdriver to the selenoid" trick.
: The points seem ok, the roter turns and the car cranks really hard BUT won't catch. It tries but as soon as you let go of the throttle there's silence (ecept the guy who's cursing up a storm). the carb IS getting gas (hell the damn thing is leaking a bit) so I don't think it's a feul pump problem....
: What do you think?
