My car wheel hopped so bad while drag racing it at the Ohio meet that it broke the right shock mount. I also have air shocks on mine so I am blaming the combo of massive wheel hop and air shocks. I have a mig welder so i can fix it no problem. But now the real problem is, How do I stop the massive wheel hop??? i have traction bars on it.
:
: I agree rust must be the problem. MY Mav is 27 yrs old & has almost 200,000 extremely hard miles. I have raced it both with a 6 cyl 3 sp & a 302 4 sp and have found no problems in the shock mounts. Theoretically (had to look that one up) shocks should be mounted parellel to axle travel but since axles travel in more than one direction its a compromise. Just keep it as close to stock as possible.
