I have a 69.5 also, and i measured it for a FMX i have, even with the slightly smaller FMX (aka Cruise-o-matic, Merc-o-matic, etc. etc. etc.) it would require WAY too much work to squeeze in there. On later models of mavericks (maybe starting in '72?) it would be a LITTLE less work because the tunnel is larger to start with, but even then you'd be better off with a c4. Check around the local yards, you're likely to find a c4 for so cheap that it's worth the cost just to not have to mess around with the c6.
