That sounds logical...The center piece of my horn comes off easier than that tho...I just gotta pull it, and it slides right out, 2 wires follow. I havn't gone down to play with it yet, but I'm sure that's the prob.
: If you have an original steering wheel, and the original center piece, pull the two phillips screws(one on each side on the back). The center piece should fall out. You should find two small bolts that hold the front cover on. See...inside this thing is a 3/8 inch strip that gets depressed when you honk the horn. It makes a connection across and send 12v to the horn. With the heat, it might have warped when the cold got to it, therefore shorting, and sounding the horn. The horn has only one way to get 12v, and if this piece is damaged, then the horn will malfunction.
