Also make sure your float level is correct. A small error can really hurt performance. Make sure you have a good seal at the carb base. This could cause the bogging problem when you hit the gas. I doubt the accelerator pump is to blame - opening the throttle suddenly would result in a "lazy" response but not a total bog to point of stalling.

: : I gotta '73 mav with a 250 and a Carter RBS one barrel carb. I Rebuilt the carb and adjusted it like I should but the car is extremely hard to sart cold and has a serous bog when warmed up. If I quickly stab the gas the car just about stalls. I think I need to check my fuel pump but has anybody else seem this problem?
