I agree with TL for a change though. Changing the points shoud be real cheap. Better yet, get a rebuilt distributor. My experience is that the points, and condenser will cost $5-10 less than a completely rebuilt dist.

: Sure is a heck of a lot of money to get it fixed though...Points are dirt cheap (& easy to install) and so are carburetor parts...


: : Good news is it isn't sugar, It's burned out points and a carb that needs re-building. Waited too long. :-) Will run $300.00 including tow to fix. Bad news is that since it isn't vandalism the insurance will not pay. At least not for the repair. Maybe for the tow. Should have it ready tomorow after work. That tootsie roll idea is a good one. Hadn't thought of that. :-)
