It's NOT an easy thing to do... you effectivly need to find a doner four door (driveshaft leanght) maverick, comet
or granada/ monarch with a maual tranny and it needs to have all the bits intact... your better bet is droping in a regualar floor shifter... still a bit time consuming but much more do-able than going from auto to manual...
I did seriously look into myself at one point but found it to be WAY to much of a headache..
