: : I heard that Nitro Glycerine is harder to obtain than Nitrous oxide.Does Nitrous make more combustion than Nitro Clycerine? Which should I install in my 72 Comet ?
: : Nitrous Oxide is 2 parts nitrogen and one part oxegen(N2O). Contrary to popular belief nitrous alone is not explosive. It is really a combustion enhancer, When introduced to the combustion chamber along with the existing mixture, and an extra shot of fuel to avoid a lean condition (supplied by the systems fuel solenoid)It creates a very cool,(dense)very oxegen enhanced mixture for the engine to combust. Therefore creating more power per combustion cycle in the engine. YOU should learn all you can about nitrous before useing it.But for starters be sure your engine is in good condition (do a compression check ect.)and go with a simple, lower horse power set up such as an N.O.S. Power shot(125hp)sysem until you get more nitrous expeareance under your belt. Your engine and wallet will thank you!
