I bought a rearend out of supposedly a 75 Maverick Grabber. It has the tag on it and among other numbers it has..Ford 8 2.79. Im assuming that stands for 8" and 2.79 gearing. It is 56 1/2" mounting surface to mounting surface. All things point to it being what it is suppose to be. However....the measurement between the lugs is 4 1/4". Everyone I have talked to say that Ford didnt make any 4 1/4" axles. Can anyone shed any light on this???
