First of all, IT IS NOT ILLEGAL. I must say that I have never
done a Mav but, I have made a couple of classic 67 and 68
Mustang Convertables from Coupes. Lets call them "Coupvertables",
The steps are easy but if you want a top you will either have to
custom build it or figure out how to retrofit one from an old ford.

Step 1 Re-enforce the frame before cutting the top off. All
convertables have additional frame re einforcements. Don't know
what I mean? use your creeper to get under both am old Mustand
coupe and a Mustang convertable.

Step 2. Notice how the convertable mustangs (i am using mustangs
because if you can retrofit any old ford, the ubiquitous Mustang will
be the easiest to find if not the cheapest.) have a flattened whell
house and how the top works. Copy the design.

This conversion should look better than a convertable mustang of the
same year.
