: BTW, I use a drill motor daily on the heads I build, and I aint had one get returnd due to faultly workmanship yet

: :
: : : You know your stuff man...

: :
: : : : "3 angle " cut is all fine and dandy, I hope you really like paying your machinist (we love doing that sort of thing)
: : : : when I asked what exactly you meant in the term "valve Job" I refered to 2 things. 1st, you can grind ( the valves and the seats , lapp and reasemble, or if you are just doing seat work you can keep you valves stored in the order they came out and lapp them when you re assemble (see my tech tip for ez lapping)
: : : : as for the 3 angle term, most seats have 2 angles, only one of them seats on te valve, a 3 angle seat has 3 angles (just as the name implies) and 2 of the 3 are actually contacting the valve. it is kinda redundant unless you are running a really bad assed motor, even oil motors (with compression in excess of 24:1) run 2 angle seats. Mack valves have only a 30 degree and a 90 degree angle on them but that is still considered 2 angles. Ford 460 (for example) have 3 angle, 30 degrees (valve contact area) 45 degrees (I think that area is for flow) and 60 degrees into the port area
: : : : IM rambling again arent I?

: : Nathan don't give out bum info, and I'am not picking on you cause you sent me two broken spoilers. The fact that you even put out the "TECH TIP" to use a drill motor to do a valve job just about put me put me into a rage, not that your not trying to be a MACHINST but tell you what,I got that title back in JAN of 1968, if you really don't know what your talking about, and I don't mean just looking at some book, then don't put it out .
: : before 1968 I did valve jobs on valves bigger then the pistons you have in your car, hell the the pistons where as big as your car.we can all learn something on this board, but let's make sure it's all good and safe info.
: : Sorry guys for such a long post, but I have just seen too much bad info being put out that I had to react, and Nathan just happen to to be the one to take the hit. He's trying and I back him on that. so just be carefull on you you guys do. And Nathan relax!

So Just long have you been in the business? I know ! but the board may need to know,so tell us Nathan are you a MASTER?
