Now if you happen to have your own machine shop, then I'm jealous ;-) The "Different" factor is a consideration here, but I think the more economical solution is to build a stout "non boss" 302 and enjoy spending the leftover $$$ on the tires you will be constantly "burning off". That's just my opinion!

: : If you got the $4000 to do so. You can build a dam good 302 from a Mexican block, Australian Cleveland heads, decent cam, pistons, and intake for a whole lot less.

: : : : I was just reading an article about modifying 351C heads to go on a 351W. Has anyone ever heard of this being done to a 302? I suppose the biggest problem would be the intake manifold.
