Now wait just a minute......NO TITLE!! Don't pay ANY money till you see a title regardless of what you buy.
This Maverick doesn't sound like a good deal to me. First, you mentioned it needs quarters....that immediately screams "rust bucket" to me. It's not the rust you see, but the rust you can't. Next, you mention you are not a mechanic....you are looking at big bucks to paint a car that needs quarters...just for starters. Also, the fact that the car is originally a six cyl. car and is being converted to a V-8 screams problems. first of all, the Maverick V-8 parts required for this swap are getting harder to find. Second, the engine is out of a Lincoln...I can't imagagine it will have the right pulleys, brackets, etc for a Maverick. Imagine trying to get parts for it and you go to the parts counter and ask for parts for a "1973 Maverick which used to be a six cyl, but now has a Lincoln V-8 in it"...especially if you are not a mechanic.
It sounds like a bad deal to me....I would walk on this one. Keep looking, a good "running" Maverick is out there somewhere.

: Thanks for your help guys! I think I am going to buy the Mav. I talked the guy down to 500 dollars, which includes the mav itself, and also a lincoln towncar that i'm only taking the 302 from and probably the transmission and radiator. The 2 door 1973 Maverick i looked at still has the original 250 straight 6 in it, but its not working that well. All it needs really is a paint job , 2 quarter panels, and back bumper. Other than that its in great shape, and still has the rare parts on it like the original maverick insignias, and all of that business. The guy who has it doesnt have the title since he picked it up from some guy in VA that was gonna trash it, but the current owner is applying for a lost title, and then its time to start working on this thing. Where can I get a magazine or a parts catalog for this particular type of car? Thanks a lot! I'll keep talking with you guys.-Brian
