Apparently they were never replaced after leaving the factory. Talk about old!
: The upper ball joints shouldn't be rivited to the upper the upper control arm; mine are bolted in. What year is your Maverick?? BTW--You are supposed to use a "pickle fork" to separate the ball-joint from the spindle...

: : I asked a few weeks back about removing the strut-bar bushings as I was having trouble with them. I finally got them off when I realised, after chiseling on one for about 30 mins, that you can pry the cap off. The metal that is flared over the end on the front is thin enough to do this with relative ease. Someone mentioned this before and I stated that I had tried that. I was prying from the wrong side. :-) In the process of putting it all back together now. Re-Assembly is going nicely so far (knock on wood). So far the main problems I've had, besides that one, were getting the old ball joints off the upper control arms. They were riveted on and I don't have a good grinder wheel for my drill. Just took some elbow grease. Also had a bear of a time getting the ball joints to seperate from the spindle. They top ends were VERY tight. Had to get a 4lb sledge and beat the crap out of it to get them loose. Now that PST has sent me the right upper ball joints (that took 2 weeks. Worst customer service I've ever encountered) it all seems to be going nicely.
: : Any advice on adjusting for toe, camber and caster? :-)
