Good point if ya want to run Super, or at least Plus. But is it really worth it? I have a 289 in my Mav. Original heads. About 10.5:1 comp. Could never even think of nitrous, or a blower...
:
: In stock form, they will raise the compression ratio but they have the same size valves & ports as 302 heads...

: : Good deal. I wouldn't put the 289 heads on it though.

: : : I have a chance to buy an original '72 grabber from my friend, he's asking $200 for it. It doesn't have a motor or a rearend. But he does have a C-4 tranny, driveline, and some good '65 289 heads. I've found a junkyard 302 for $150, and an 8" rearend for $100, a windshield for $65, rear window for $45 (someone punks broke them out). Then maybe I'd put my Magnum500 rims off of my mustang on it. I think this is a pretty good deal, especially if I could build it for about $1000, drive it, then do some bodywork myself and paint it. I'm thinking maybe grabber green with some black Boss Shinoda stripes to fit a maverick. What do you guys think?
