I'm searching for aftermarket coils to lower the front an inch or so but retain spring rate: hence my unwillingness to just cut or compress regular coils. It is not currently a priority in my Mav to do list, but I will continue searching.

: Okay...what is the spring height for the L6. Kinda want to drop the front a little, but my Mav steers fine with the L6 springs that came in it. Just beefed up with urethan bushings, and coil-overs in the rear.

: : ...that cutting coils increases spring rate so getting a stiffer spring and then cutting it will make it unbearable...

:
: : : Hmmmmmmmm hadnt thought bout the star thingy, I knew that I would have to saw a coil or 2 out, I think that HiPro shock suggestion sounds like a good one
: : : I have also toyed with the idea of putting adjustable dirt track shocks in it too, of course those are designed to turn left but they kinda suck on right hand turns, any one put race shocks in? not straight line shocks but road racing??

: : : : The uncompressed height of the V-8 Maverick springs is approximately 16 inches. I don't really know what good this information will do you since a stiffer spring of the same height will make the front of the car sit higher. your headlights would point at the stars...

: : : : : seems like when Im really up to speed I get the floating bump recovery on the front of my grabber, I have an all new everything (rubber bushings there) amnd new shocks, Im running a 302 (original equipment) with lighter intake and exaust. but I still feel like the front end is too heavy for the springs, I was kinda looking at putting the front coils from a ford ranger in.... any ideas?
: : : : : PS I need to know the uncompresed height of the mave springs, dont feel like pulling mine out untill I have the "new" springs..

: : : : : : PST 1-800-247-2288. I tatlked to ED. Mid December 1998 he quoted $135.00 for a pair of "heavy duty" springs.

: : : : : : : Where did you find the "stiffer" coil springs??? Need something for my 289.

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : I have done a bit of surfing and catalog reading in the last couple of months.

: : : : : : : : What I will do is compile a list of what how much and where and send it for FAQ evaluation.

: : : : : : : : I have found springs front and rear, shocks, bushings. I have not found what I want, which is to keep the rear end like it is(I will change to the JC Whitney 4leaf) and LOWER the frond end only slightly(1 to 1 1/2"). I have found coil springs for oem and stiffer.
: : : : : : : : My ultimate desire would be suspension to mimic my bike. Progressive Suspension.
