I didn't know you were an expert on sarcasm...
Embarrassed for not getting to your message before answering the one I was on. Well...maybe I followed the thread, and yours wasn't on the page. I guess you didn't think of that. You'd rather belitle me instead. I understand.

: There's no need for sarcasm. You're basically telling people that the '73 Mavericks have "the big front bumper" and if they don't know any better, they're gonna be real disappointed when they buy the wrong part from the salvage yard or whoever. I don't even know why you posted that in the first place when the question had already been answered correctly the previous day (by me) in detail. Instead of being offended, you should be embarrassed....

:
: : I didn't know we were using a micrometer to measure the sizer of these things. Pardon me for being politically automotively incorrect.

: : : Didn't you guys read my post about this? The '73 Front bumper is bigger than the '70-'72 but NOT as big as the '74-'77 front bumper. '74-'77 got the big rear bumpers as well...

: :
: : : : Got it backward...big bumper on front of the 73, and the 74 had big front and rear.

: : : :
: : : : : : What year did they put the bigger bumpers on the Maverick? When searching picture galleries on the web, I find that the year models are not clearly defined by the bumper.

: : : : : I'm not 100% sure, but I think they put on the rear big bumper on the 73, and the front bumper on the 74. I know that I'm in the minority here, but I actually prefer the bigger bumpers. I IMPALED a Chevy truck's rear bumper while we were both backing out of a parking space; it barely cracked my plastic bumper guard. Aside from that, I do think they look a little better. I took off my front bumper brackets, had them cut out six inches and rewelded and cut the rubber part that goes on top of the bumper to match and it looks awesome! Important note: I drive a Comet and was changing the front to look like a Maverick in order to put on a Grabber hood. 6 inches would normally be way too much to cut out.
