Your were smart to pass on that rust bucket.

Here is an add I found in a photo ad book. I was going to call on it, but it is about 10 hours from my house. It is is the Buffalo Area:

1971 Mercury Comet: Factory V-8, AT, PS, AC, Rally Wheels, North Carolina Car, runs very good, $1500 or best offer, (716) 549-6213 Angola, New York.

Let me know if you call about it.

Good Luck

: Well I must say that I owned a 77 4 door mav for 3 years that I restored in high school 10 years ago and ever since getting rid of it I have ben dying to pick up another one. I thought I found a beauty. The add read 75 maverick excellant condition 32,000 original miles. I went and checked out. It was a 2 door dark brown exterior with a mint tan interior. In fact the rear seat still had the factory plastic on it. It had the I6 250 and some rust around the rear wheel wells. And yes it ONLY had 32,098 miles on it! I was almost ready to hand the 70 year old man the $1700 for it. But then I layed on the driveway and found rotted crossmember on the rear frame just behind were the leaf spring's attatch on both sides. Plus the mid portion of the unibody just crumbled when I tapped on it. I then passed on the car. Did I make a mistake??? I know that I'm am going to have a hard time finding a Mav.in good shape here. I live around the Buffalo NY area. My search continues......
