Well, the site is http://www.amug.org/~a121/mav/. Check it out yourself:

Wheelbase....................102.5 in.
Track........................53.5 in.
Length.......................181.0 in.
Width........................67.5 in.
Height.......................51.0 in
Curb Weight..................3698 lbs.
Fuel Capacity................15.0 gal. (approx.)
Weight/Power Ratio...........n/a

OF course, the car actually has a 16 gal. gas tank, so all the figures aren't correct. Anyways, i'm not picking on the guy who has this website, it's a very nice page, but i just wanted to double check the weight because there's absolutely no point in building up a tank.

: Just glanced at the title for my big assed T'bird, it weighs in at 3,971
: I really dont know how a mav could be only 300lbs lighter, since the bird is the size of a small battle barge and has a bigblock, auto trans air cond. 'lectrical crap ect ect.................

: : Well. there's the gross vehical weight and then you have the net weight. 3698 sounds like gross weight as I know Mavericks don't weigh that much. The G.V.W. of my '73 is 3989. That's the maximum weight with five passengers, the trunk fully loaded with luggage, etc. The ACTUAL weight of just the car by itself is about 2800-2900 lbs. So there ya have it...

:
: : : I've got a quick question concerning weight....I've got a 69.5 Mav with a 200 in it right now, and i'm considering putting a 302. The main reason that i decided to stick with this car rather than buying something with a big block is weight....according to my title, the mav weighs in at ~2500lbs. It's a matter of personal preference but i think a light car with a well built small block can keep pace with a lot of the "boats" with big blocks. Anyways, now i see someone who claims that their mav. weighs in at 3698 i believe....way more than is worth towing around! So, my question: how much (approx.) does a maverick weigh? I'm sure there are differences between years, but i just find it hard to believe that my car could weigh that much (ever tried leaning on the fender??? Dents right in, it's so thin). Thanks for any help....
