Another consideration is whether the car is in stock condition. In NJ, you're supposed to have the original rims and engine for it to qualify for classic license status. It's a hassle to get a car through the process, but well worth it in that insurance is a fraction of the cost, you only have to pay for registration once, and most important is that you don't have to go through a tailpipe inspection.


25 years makes a classic. I've never even heard of the state to state thing though.
