A 351W intake manifold will not fit on a 302. There is an adaptor stud and gasket kit available to put 351 heads on a 302, however 1977 and later 351w heads have the same small (1.78i/1.45e) valves as the 302 heads and have bigger combustion chambers which translates to a lower compression ratio. Not good for performance. The ports on these heads are identical to the 302 heads which are the exact same casting. The 351 used larger head bolts, hence the need for the adapter kit...

: I have been wondering if you can put 351 windsor heads in a 302 and if you have to bolt up the 351 intake manifold in order to get the heads to function correctly. and also if you want to take a look at my 1977 Ford Maverick here's the website. email me if you like it or you can help. thanx.
