: Okay, so here's the problem. I am putting a Carter Carb on a 302 in my maverick. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to connect the throttle cable to the carb. I even bought Carter's ford throttle linkage adapter, but I'm still confused. They way the cable hooked up before was simple, it made a ball and socket joint. The problem is that there is no ball on the carter carb for the cable to connect to. There is this thing that hangs off that looks like it could work, but the instructions say it's for the kickdown linkage, plus it's positioned in the wrong way; if the throttle cable were connected to it it would not do anything but pivot this one piece back and forth independant of everything else on the carb. Is there something I'm missing??? I would love to get this thing on the road...

: anything would probably help...
: thanks

Recently finished the same project. First of all
you need the small block chevy carb #9635 which
has the correct linkage positions. And you need
the Carter throttle adapter kit #3-2088.
