Just bought a set of tires, but, since my tires are used, I will not rule out anything. T.L., you are absolutley right, $35 is a small price to pay. I will be doing this over Thanksgiving. Again, Thank you all for the suggestions....

: Your advice is good, however having the driveshaft balanced should not be very expensive and probably wouldn't be a bad idea...

: : I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet. I had a Fairmont that had a bad vibration over 60 MPH. It acted the way you describe. I could not figure it out. Shop said it was the rack and pinion. Replaced it and the vibration was still there.(the shop ate the cost of the R&P)It turned out that it was a combination of a flat spot on the tires and the wheels needing balancing. I would eliminate the possibility that it is simply your tires out of balance before doing the drive shaft.
