After doing a little reading I found out that it could also be a vaccum leak. This wouldn't be that difficult to fix, and a little less time consuming.
: The first thing to do would be to take it back. Most shops garauntee their work for a short period of time. Second thing would be to get a book on the C4 and check things out yourself. One thing that is missed when reassembling the tranny is a small steel ball that goes in the valve body. That sould cause the symptoms you describe. If they took apart the valve body to put a new gasket in it they could have forgotten to put the shuttle ball back in place. I can send you a picture of the valve body and shuttle ball if you would like.

: : I ran into a problem with my tranny. It never had any problems whats so ever till I decided to give it a fluid and filter change...BIG mistake. Now it shifts from 1st to 2nd & 3rd at 10 mph. the only time it shifts different is when I get on it and then it still shifts a whole lot earlier than it should and it slips between 2 & 3rd. The tranny was nearly perfect before. Its a c-4 on a 302cid. Also I didn't Have time to do it myself so I got a shop to do it.
: : What could it be?
