The rearends I mentioned do NOT require any relocation of the spring perches; they are a direct bolt-in, however they are 1-inch wider on each side (tires will stick out an extra inch) than the stock rear-end. Also, depending on the transmission used, the drive shaft may require shortening...

: The problem with the wider rear end is that you have tto cut off the spring perched and reweld new ones in the weakened areas. If you can find a rare 9 inch out of a 65-66 mustang they bolt right up. Also if you decide to narrow a vesille rear end becareful as the axel shafts neck down. If you want a 9 inch you may want to check out Currie Enterprises, they do a great job and the tubes aren't weakened
: : A '72-'77 Maverick 8-inch should work fine (sorry, no possi) or you can use a 9-inch from a Granada, Monarch, Versailles or '67-70 Mustang . These rearends will be 2 inches wider than the Maverick rears...

: : : I have a 69 1/2 Mav. I recently did the V8 conversion, but I have the stock 4 lug rear end. I've been thinking about changing the rear end to a 5 lug. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to find a "plug and play" swap and posi would be nice. Thx.
