These parts cost all of a couple dollars and are simple to replace. You also might want to check the gap on the points. After they wear for a while the gap changes and can throw things off a bit. The Chilton's basically says check the coil, then check for spark, (if no spark at one or two plugs, find out why,) check for fouled plugs, check points,

: about the points & condenser...

: : If you read the troubleshooting section in your Chilton manual the firts thing it lists under hard starting is section 3. This section is all about the coil. Don't put the Chilton's manual down until you've read it all Paulie. Hope you get it fixed.

: : : IT'S A LONG SHOT, BUT HAVE YOU REPLACED THE IGNITION COIL? I BOUGHT A COMET OFF A GUY ONE TIME (HE WAS SELLING IT BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T START) I PUT A NEW COIL IN IT AND IT STARTED! SO I DROVE IT HOME, I THINK HE WAS PI$$ED.
