I'm not quite sure about fixing the cracks, but to prevent the cracks clean your dash with windex (any all purpose cleaner) and then rub baby oil in with a rag. Rub it on thick to where the dash shines. It will soak in and keep the dash soft, or soften it up if it is already dry. I know this sounds crazy but I used it on my '86 F-150 and I have a unfaded no-crack dash after all this time. My grandad used it on his '67 F-100 he bought in '70 and it is still a mint dash. I was at first skeptical, but now a believer.

: I have a small crack in the black dashboard of my '71 Maverick. I need to know if there's a product I can use to patch it or at least save the rest of the dash from cracking.
