did you replace the fuel filter when you rebuilt it??
also I had a similar problem with a Carter single barrel after I rebuilt it, apperantly thre was a little piece of old gasket floating around in the thing and itr would lodge itself in one of the passeges.... after the car sat for a little bit it would dislodge itsefl and I could fire it up again.

: well it will start and stay running for about1 1/2 - 2 mins. then die like it running out of gas but if i keep my foot on the gas and dont let off it will keep running till i let off of it. i checked the fuel pump and it seems to be working fine and i recently rebuilt the carb so im really lost here thanks for any help
