My por brother:( he has only had his car on the road a week and on the way home from school the tranny went out andhe olny had 1st gear. He idled it home and in 100 degree heat with a leaking radiator he over heated the motor, BAD.( talk about a bad day)
when the car cooled down he heard the block crack (then his heart cracked).
Any way I'd like to replace the motor with a 200i6, they are better motors than the 170 and easier to come by. I'll also need a tranny (C4) so were gonna just pick up a boneyard motor tranny combo and bolt it in, That is if it will bolt up. Are the motor and tranny mounts the same? Is the drive line the same length?
So all of you who Know PLEASE help me and Mark out.
This little is his first and he was almost in tears when this all happened.
