This is going to sound really stupid, and I dont expect you to understand.
My wife had a 74 Comet that she got from her grandmother. We sold the car
many years ago and she never got over it, she LOVED that car! I am trying
to either find her another comet or convert a 74 Maverick 4dr that I found
at a junkyard (shell only) to a comet. My main question is this: Are the
tail light panels (where the gas cap is) different between comets and
mavericks? I noticed a slight difference in the width of tail lights and
the fact that the comet tail panel seems to have raised edges around the
tail lights. Is this a fiberglass/composite panel that went over the
sheetmetal or is it a completely different panel? this seems to be the
biggest difference body-wise and the only thing that might keep me from
plunging into this insane adventure. Any input and/or advise would be
greatly appreciated.
