Well, Eagle makes the 5.4" rods. Building strokers are so expensive, I would probly never even attempt to build one. Try this instead.
Use your 302, rebuild it with Keith Black's new "Twisted Wedge Head" pistons (they should be out soon). Use Ford Perf. Solutions solid flat tappet cam. -- 230/240 @ .050 w/ .534"/.534" -- Use a set of TFS "Twisted Wedge" heads with either a Victor Jr. (my choice) or Performer RPM intake and a 750 Holley. Of course use headers and roller rockers and chain. The stock crank and rods are still good at this level. This should have somewhere around 420 HP(at least).
If your into drag racing, this motor will put you well into the 12's and still be very streetable. We run this combination in a '71 Mav.
Running it to 6000 RPM's, its run the best of a 12.26 in the 1/4. I drive this everyday on the street. Even in the snow and ice.
After some tunning, we now shift at 6700 RPM's.
The problem is that it is geared for 6000 RPM's.
I cross the finish line at about 5700 RPM's.
After a gear change (probly 4.56's) we should
be running somewhere around 11.70's. We also run a
3000 stall with it.
If street driving is all your doing, I would run the Perf. RPM, 2600 stall (about), and maybe 3.70 gears.
