Okay..Here's the deal now. I have another ballast resistor, other than the resistance wire that's already in the car. From what I understand here, I should be able to connect my "12V ignition" wire to one side of this ballast, and then connect the other side to the "I" post on the solenoid. Right? but, well this doesn't do anything. I get no spark. so, I'm still perplexed. And did having it hooked up to a source that had power while the key was in the accesory position cause the engine to run even when I turned off the key? or was that something else?
oh yeah...I have a carter carb...I think that you may be right about the secondaries opening up...how does one fix this.
