The easiest option is to have a driveshaft made up to fit. However, if you have access to a salvage yard interchange manual, you can find all the different driveshaft lengths listed. After putting in the 9" housing, measure the distance from the center of the rear end (pinion) yoke to the center of the transmission slip yoke (be sure to give yourself some freeplay when doing so). If you can't find the right driveshaft length, bear in mind that Ford made a slew of pinion yokes that came in a variety of lengths.

It's been 15 years since I did this project, but it seems to me I used the pinion yoke from a pickup truck (very short) and the driveshaft from a 68 Mustang 289 automatic.
