Ryan, when I put my 9"rear in I had replaced a
small drum brake 6cyl. rear with it. It bolted
right in place of the other rear using new U-
bolts. I replaced all my brake lines at the same
time but I believe your main line to the tee at
the rear should be in the same place. I also
didn't use the original drive shaft as I replaced
the 170 with a 351C. The pinion yoke on my 9"
was huge compared to the small rear. If your shaft
did fit I would think you would have to use some
kind of an adaptor u-joint but I know that 9"
rears also came with smaller yokes than mine. My
center section is the one that originally came
in the same car that the Cleveland came out of.
As for measuring the rear I could have been wrong
when I said the Granada rear is 52". I was
comparing 2 completly different rears from each
other. There does seem to be a slight difference
in width using the Granada rear but I didn't have
any tire clearence problems but once again I did
not use rims off the original car. I used Magnum
500's from a Torino.
