:
: : Bob Hatcher, I read a message you posted and said you had a 351C in a Mav.

: : I have both and am thinking of making the ultimate "Sleeper" Street
: : Rod. I just have a couple of questions for you.

: : 1 What has to be done to the shock towers?
: : 2 Other than a Monte Carlo Bar, what other frame strengthening should
: : I do?
: : 3 Will the C6 bolt up as well?
: : 4 What tips would you suggest or things that you would do different?

: I'm also in the middle of putting a 351C Cobra motor in my 1972 Comet GT.

: Bob Hatcher gave me some excllent advise, take your time and tackle one problem at a time. Every time I get in a hurry things go awary.

: The engine has been dyno'd and is in the car, in about two weeks I hope to start it in the car for the first time.

: Here are my responses to your questions.
:
: 1 Nothing, it is a tight fit but it will work. You will have two spark plugs that you will need to raise the engine to change. also I had to remove the valve covers to put these same wires on the plugs.

: 2 I will be adding sub frame connectors later.

: 3 I have the C6 in mine and we had to ding the passenger floor board for extra clearance on the servo pump. Alos took a 67 - 68 Mustang C6 trans mount welded two spacers and filed the holes a litte and it bolted up fine. Through some friends I even got the correct shift arm for the trans and I'm using the stock floor shift.

: 4 Don't use Tublar Automotive headers, Auto Krafters carries theirs also. They don't fit well and the instructions are all wrong.

: You can use the stock engine mounts, with some modifications or make your own. Find a set of headers that are made for the Maverick or Comet.

: I use my son's AOL service so I don't know the e-mail address.
