Not a Guru but.....
I know you said you replaced the Power Cylinder but did you replace the Power Cylinder to chassis bushings? I've found that the *slightest* amount of play in this area will give the steering a very "loose" feeling.
Also, you stated that the car scares you over 100mph. How so? What exactly is it doing? Could be something other than a steering problem such as a downforce problem, etc.
Good luck!
: OK heres the deal.....
: My "mary" scares the hell outta me any time we go over 100mph.
: she has all new front end a new PS cyclinder, control valve, pump, and suspension.
: I tightened up the steering gear and that helped a little. The problem seems to be in the design of the PS control.
: there is movement of the steering gear arm before the control valve moves enough to assist the steeing.
: PS is nice at low speeds and in parking lots but I have this "need for speed!!!"
: I have all the necessary parts to convert it to manual steering and I am going to be putting disc brakes on the front soon so I'd like to do all the front end work at once.
: My Question? I need an opinion and/or feed back from people who have driven a V8 mav w/out PS.
: Any 2 cents is appreciated
